“I am Created; I am Chosen”

1 But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.  2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.  [Isaiah 43:1-2]

There are times where we forget or don’t consider the reason why we are here. There are times in this walk of faith that we don’t understand what it is to be a creation from God. We also tend to not consider what it is to be chosen by God. In the book of Isaiah, God tells the people of Israel to not fear in any circumstance that life may bring because He is always right there by their side. The question that we may ask ourselves is this, “Why did God tell them to not fear?” the answer is simple, because they were created and chosen. You see, anything that is not created by God dies; anything that is not chosen by God cannot endure. This is also applied to our lives. If we weren’t created by Him, then we don’t exist; If we weren’t chosen by Him, then we cannot endure. Since you were created by Him, no matter what life may bring, it is not going to kill you but to form you. (Rom 8:28; Genesis 50:20-21) Since you were chosen by Him, no matter what life may bring, you will alwaysconquer. Think about the reasons why you were created and chosen and I’ll promise you that you won’t look at yourself the same. – Alberto Santiago
